Landry Pool and Landscape
At first glance, the existing courtyard seemed to present limited options in terms of functional outdoor living space. However, the Makaira design team was able to envision a contemporary pool layout that maximized the potential of the existing space. Steps pads across the swimout ledge of pool work to connect access from the open air foyer and outdoor kitchen area without hindering the layout of the pool. Evergreen landscape beds around the pool perimeter help to soften the ridged geometry of the courtyard walls and building. Firerock pavers were used throughout the front entry path, foyer, pool area and outdoor kitchen. Repetition of materials throughout this project help to provide a seamless transition through this space and plant materials help to compliment the architecture of home. The result is a project that stuns visitors with it's high end simplicity and functionality when one enters the renovated courtyard space.
